In the previous post Configuring Interfaces Sophos Firewall, I guided you through configuring the Interface. Now, I will continue to guide you on configuring Zones, DHCP, and DNS.
I – Zones Configuration
1 – Go to the Network section
2 – Select Zones to create and manage zones.
3 – Click on Add to create a new zone
4 – Define the zone parameters such as Name, Description, Type, Device and Save the changes and apply the configuration.
II – DNS Configuration
1 – In the Network section, go to DNS settings.
2 – Configure the DNS forwarding settings to specify the DNS servers that the firewall should use for name resolution and Save the changes and apply the configuration.
III – DHCP Configuration
1 – In the Network section, go to DHCP settings, click Add.
2 – Fill in the relevant information
Name: DHCP name
Interface: Select the interface for DHCP allocation
Dynamic IP lease: Choose the dynamic IP range to be allocated (this IP range must be within the IP class of the interface)
Static IP MAC mapping: Assign a static IP based on the device’s MAC address
Subnet mask: DHCP subnet mask
Gateway: Use the DHCP allocated interface as the gateway for clients
DNS: Enter DNS information for clients when they receive DHCP.
3 – Save the changes and apply the configuration, select On Status for active DHCP.
